So lately I've been going to a lot of castings and things, which require me to don the full face of makeup. Soon as I get home I immediately wash my face but lately I've been thinking about getting a new makeup remover. Right now I use the mild facial liquid cleanser from the Clinique 3-step system, which works but I'm kind of in the mood for something new.

I usually have trouble getting my mascara completely off (it's not waterproof though), and am really looking for something that gets the majority of the makeup off after the first wash. The cleanser I use right now to take off my makeup requires 2-3 rounds of washing before I feel like my face is completely clean.

So any products or suggestions out there? I heard about using mineral oil to remove eye makeup but wouldn't that make my skin greasy?

    Thanks in advance!

You need some Shu Uemura Cleansing oil in your life. It's amazing and made specifically for breaking down oils on your face and makeup. and it leaves the skin soft and hydrated. you only need 2-3 pumps on dry hands and dry face, message it in, then add warm water and it will turn to milk and you face will be spotless. I promise.

Ooooh, that sounds fabulous! I am definitely going to look into it! I've heard of that brand before and I believe it is considered top notch so I wouldn't mind trying it. Do you know of any websites that offer it at a good price? I don't mind paying money for skin care products but if I can manage to find it at a more affordable price, that would be awesome! I'm going to look it up online right now!

Thanks so much for the recommendation!

your welcome. try the trial size first if your unsure if you will like it I know the larger bottles are expensive. or go to a counter near you and ask for a sample. they make a great trial size set with three of the different scents.

Thanks, Chris, I'll definitely check out the trial/sample size first. Never know how the skin may react, even to the good stuff! =)

And thanks, Pashi, for the suggestion about the almond oil. I'm guessing that any type of natural almond oil brand will do or is there a certain brand you would recommend?

    Hi Dania

My favourite cleansing oil is RMK's (japanese brand) its less drying than the Shu Uemura one.  I saw a review here of cleansing oils:

Thanks, Rowena! I will definitely check out your review...it's always helpful to shop around. I've been reading reviews here and there and it gets overwhelming at times but I'm sure I will come across something that I really like.

    Hey Dania

I've also decided I like Jurlique a lot! Its mainly a natural brand, quite gentle on your skin, and I tried out Laura Mercier One Step Cleaning foam which was great. I think since you probably have to cleanse quite alot you need something quite gentle...

I often use Arbonne International Swiss skincare, Eye Make-up Remover. It works great and all of their products are 100% vegan.

Thanks for the additional suggestions, Rowena and Amy! I'll definitely have to look into those. All natural is always good, especially for my skin and you're right, Rowena, I'll definitely need something gentle since I like to cleanse a lot. I'll be sure to look into getting some samples!

Cover FX has a face cleanser/makeup remover that works amazingly. I found it to be one of the best waterproof/semi permenant makeup removers, without the oily residue afterwards.

Ooooh, that sounds nice! I'll have to look into that. I don't think I've heard of Cover FX before but that product does sound interesting and anything that doesn't leave an oily residue on my face is always a plus for me! Thanks for the suggestion!
