Today was the 1st day I cried since I started my own "pursuit of fulfilling my dream". I cried for like an hour straight. I received 2 more rejections today and I had to just release my sorrow I guess. Im not giving up though its just I felt hurt for alot of reasons. Ive always wanted this since I was a little girl and I guess it hurted alot. Usually, I am really good at taking rejection but this time it all is just different. I know im beautiful, tall, outgoing just an all around person and I felt rejected. Im from a small town in Louisiana and everyone says I can make it, best of all I know I can make it. I pray every night just to get a break. Well my question to all: models, photographers, etc. Did you ever have that feel of rejection and if so have you cried?

Hey there Delilah,,,I  am a model, 45 yrs old, just got into the industry a couple yrs ago. Its been a life-long dream,, and after raising my family, decided to give it a whirl. So far i have  been in a TV commercial,,its maybe not much, but damn it,,i made a dream come true for myself !!  Just remember,,if its a passion, u will stick with it,,i believe with dedication,,u can make it happen. People used to say to me , if i was discouraged and wanting to give -up,, "thats it,, you r not going to try for something else",,and that always gave/gives me encouragement. There r many different routes to go. A very wide range of opportunities.  Don't take it as a rejection if you don't get a casting or whatever, its just not the look of the day they r looking for, but the next one could be it !!!  Good luck,,don't ever give up on a dream.

I'm sorry to hear that you had a tough time lately with agency rejections. Unfortunately, with moments of success come moments of rejection and as models that is what we have to learn to come to terms with. The main thing I tell myself when I get rejected by a client or agency is that they are not judging me personally or as a person...they are simply being objective in their evaluation of me from a business perspective. And that's only fair. I may not like it, but as long as they aren't attacking my character, my intelligence, or anything like that, then it's all good and I can keep it moving.

I've been searching for a new agent and have gotten rejection letters. I accept it and know that if I don't have the look they want or can market, then that's one less agency to deal with at this point in time.

Another thing to keep in mind while you're searching for an agency is that the state of the economy is affecting the modeling industry as well as the rest of the other fields. Many agencies are scrambling to find their models work and even fashion designers are having to rethink their motives and future steps. I kind of think of it as a hiring freeze for models but that doesn't mean you won't be able to find an agency. It's just another perspective to see things from...I mean, most agencies probably aren't prepared to take on new girls or guys that they can't promise work to. It's best to find an agency that believes in you and have the resources and connections to be able to put forth the best effort on your behalf. If they can't do that, then it isn't worth your time.

    Well said!!!

"Sometimes you have to go through the pain to experience the joy! " :) Just keep thinking positive thoughts, keep aplpying yourself to agencies, and one day everything will work out! Just have faith/hope, and try your best! Don't let them get to you.
