I don't have a beach holiday planned, but since the sun has started to appear in the UK I have been noticing lots of bright pink people wandering the streets!  I am very careful with things like sun protection.  What products do people use?

I use Shiseido because its very liquid and doesn't feel oily or greasy.

For my body I love the Neutrogena Fresh Cooling Sunblock SPF 45. It feels really great when it's misted on and is a great way to cool off when it's really hot. For my face, spray the Neutrogena sunblock onto my hands and put it on my face. I've wanted to get a sunscreen or sunblock just for my complexion but I've been lazy and a bit cheap haha but so far I haven't had any sunburn on my face other than my lips so it works for me.

    Hey Dania

Have you notived people using higher SPF's than usual?  When I was younger everyone use SPF 15.  Now I'm always looking for high SPF's of 40+ just to be sure!

Yes, I have noticed it! It's a good thing, I suppose because it shows that people are finally starting to pay more attention to sun care and aren't trying to take any risks with their skin. Normally I'm fine with SPF 15 but the sunscreen we currently have is 45+ so I figure I'll just use it until it's empty and then go back to SPF 15...but then again, it doesn't hurt to have a higher SPF so I may just end up sticking with the 45+. You can never be too careful!

    Hey Dania

Yeah why not! I think we may as well put enough product on to make sure our skin is protected.  they are religious about high SPFs in Asia but what I dont like is anything too thick or white/creamy.

I wonder why the sunscreens in Asia are thick and/or creamy/white? Do you think it's because of Asia's fascination with having "whiter" skin? I read somewhere that like India, to have light skin is more favorable and darker skin is not viewed as being "beautiful." I wonder if that has anything to do with it? I'm probably over analyzing but being half Filipino, I know that in the Philippines having lighter skin is "in" and many dark-skinned Filipinas are look down upon. My dad and mom used to tell me that so many of the women there bought all those creams and anything that would promise them lighter skin.

Sorry, I know that's way off topic haha but your reply just made me think of that.

    Hey

Its true - in Asia they are OBSESSED with white skin, not just white but a milky, translucent white (which quite frankly, isn't a natural skin colour for anyone I think) - almost like a doll with pink cheeks!  I guess that might be why they go for whitening AND SPF to prevent getting darker.  I love being dark and having a tan but I think that is because I am westernized!
