I'm very picky about people touching my hair, mostly when it comes to cutting it. I've been trying to grow my hair out forever but no matter what stylist I go to, they manage to chop my hair off instead of giving me a trim. After my tried and true stylist started to follow in the same footsteps, I have since stopped going to her and now do my own hair. I'm not a pro by any means...but when I notice that I have split ends, I'll mimic what I used to see my stylist do in the mirror. Of course my layers are starting to grow out and it's funky looking when I curl it so I'm thinking I may have to take a chance and go back to her, but only to do the layers, nothing else.

I have a few other friends that have learned to cut and style their own hair, for whatever reasons. Any of you follow this DIY (do-it-yourself) trends?

    Hey Dania

I trim my fringe - that's about it! I also trim off split ends but otherwise I don't think I'm skilled enough.  But then again, its only hair?  Sometimes I just want to cut all the ends off myself!

Haha, I totally get what you mean! I have a friend that knows how to cut her own layers in her hair, and it looks so fabulous, I'm jealous! I thought about having her do my layers but then again cutting your own hair is a lot different that cutting someone else's and as picky as I am about people touching my hair, I think I'll stick to a proven pro instead of a friend who could be a former friend if she ruined my hair! haha.

That's true! I have to say I wouldn't let my friend touch my hair now or else there might be a nasty fall out! And thats not good. I've cut my cousins hair (aged 6) and that was indeed a diaster!
