I had a friend of mine get stopped in the street and was asked to go to a studio to have some beauty shots done for only £15 - this included hair and make up.  Instead she was given the hard sell once she was there - she was furious!  This wasn't a bit of hard sell either, this was - lets-work-out-a-finance-deal type of plan!

    Has anyone else experienced this?

Hmmm...I've heard of people posing as "scouts" telling people that they had mode potential and should put together a portfolio and then getting a hard sell once they got there but I've never heard of them discussing a finance deal type of plan. I can only imagine how much they were trying to charge if you have to finance it, that's crazy! I've also seen other people charging people for photo/portfolio packages but just because you get such work done, doesn't guarantee that someone will make it in modeling. I think it's a terrible scam to put onto people. Hopefully your friend didn't fall for it!

My friend was pretty mad but I had another friend who ended up paying £600 for some photos she never ever used! What a waste of time!

These places exist everywhere, thats the sad thing!  They always try to sell tons of expensive photograph and it just isnt worth that amount of money.
