It worries me sometimes when it comes to younger models trying to break into the industry. They are so much more prone to being scammed or taken advantage of so if there are any of you out there in this position, it is always important to exercise caution when dealing with people claiming to have the ability to take your modeling career to the next level.
If you're an underage model in the United States (under 18 years of age), it is crucial to know that you are not allowed to pose in lingerie, glamour, or other adult oriented type of work. It is against the law and any good, legitimate photographer knows this and follows the rules. I get many questions from underage models asking if they can be a Victoria's Secret model and they'll be like 15 or 16 years old. The answer is no, not until you are 18. So if a photographer ever approaches you and tells you they want you to shoot in lingerie or some other type of sexy shoot, and you are underage, tell them no. Chances are they are shady.
Underage models also need to have a parent/guardian present at the shoot. No exceptions.
Wanting to make it in the industry is one thing but putting your personal safety at risk to pursue it isn't smart at all. Always exercise good judgment and if something doesn't seem right, follow your instincts and do your homework. It's important to learn who you are dealing with.
