Obviously Digital is easier to use and easier to manipulate  but something in me feels as if it's cheating. I used my film camera for a shoot yesterday and the shots are wonderful. My only problem is that I don't have my own darkroom so processing the films are time consuming and expensive.

SLR cameras, however, are a lot cheaper than DSLRs is this a good enough reason to stick with film. I think there is nothing more satisfying that hearing the click of a shutter. However, digital cameras are so much easier to use throughout the whole process. You also don't have to worry too much about the shots you are taking. (Is this a good thing or a bad thing?)

This was a huge debate when I was learning about photography but these days, its almost a given that everyone uses digital.  The pros are obvious; we can review images immediately, pop it on a pc to edit, share with anyone around the world.  It is also much more cost effective - I look at all my old photos (a lot of them rubbish!) and think of all the money I spent on processing them.

However, I totally understand where you are coming from! I love the click of a traditional camera.  You still (in my opinon) beat the large format film for quality.  When you zoom in on a traditional photograph you can see the grains.

I don't miss film in the colour sense, but black and white I think is fantastic in film format and I enjoy the processing side of it too.  But for now, it has to be a personal hobby thing for me, and I have to use digital for professional work - its just much quicker!

I think everywhere uses digital now. I know that the studio I work at has always used film and it obviosuly works so much better from a business sense because you don't need the extra room for a Dark room, nor all the necessities needed in one.

Still, I love my film camera and because it's very modern (Olympus IS 5000) the colour is fantastic. Really really bright.

However, I love the editing side of photography, photomanipulation is wonderful.

Yes totally. Although you can still edit film pictures, its just a bit more of a hassle.

One thing I would always use film for is high quality black and white photography.  I adore it, I don't think digital can quite match it at the moment.
