    Hi everyone

I was wondering has anyone else ever photographed the catwalk?

I visited the clothes show last week which was fun and I had a chance to take photographs of the catwalk.  It was pretty cool but there were definately some pointers.

Using a long lens is the best way to get a good shot - head shot, clothes shot.  Also a fast lens; something that can work well in low light conditions.  Nothing wrong with using a flash but you need a powerful one.  You have to work fast too - I noticed how as soon as a model had reached the end of the catwalk another one appeared!

    Hope that helps someone!

I use a Nikon - Telephoto zoom lens - 70 mm - 300 mm - f/4.5.  Not the best lens in the world but it works for distances thats for sure. and its fairly fast.

How much do those lenses cost? I know it'll be a bit different for me because I'm a Canon user but now that I'm getting into the photography thing a bit more I am looking to get some more lenses for flexibility.

    Hi Jess

Well telephoto lenses vary - you could get a second hand Canon lens for around £100.  It depends on how fast you want it - my dream lens is 300m fixed prime lens which is around £2,000!  But a good introduction is £150 Canon Lens. 70-300m to around f/4.  You can also zoom with this lens - so its pretty flexible.
