While I know the "generic" answer to this question, I know no two photographers are the same. I want to know what attributes or traits do you look for in a model? What behaviors, actions, etc. make you jump to work with a model? Or maybe there is a model or two that you frequently go back to work with over and over again...share what it is about this model that inspires you to maintain an on going business relationship with them. If you have a muse, I would be interested to learn how you came about this individual and what you were searching for in a muse that that particular individual fulfilled for you?

I love a model who photographs well - now that's a god given thing, but one who is bubbly and is full of ideas, who can move around without me telling them how to move, who are adaptable and enjoy the shoot.  Some girls look bored and haven't practised -there is a skill to modelling well and people should practise!

Great points, Rowena! It's one thing to be a natural in front of the camera, but that doesn't mean a model can't continue to grow and develop more in terms of modeling. It's always beneficial to try to improve oneself. I've seen bored models before and I think that's such an insult to the photographer and the industry in general. Models are so expendable and many forget that there are so many others that are just waiting to take their place. It's like, if you're bored, then what are you doing here wasting my time?

Yes! I love to see the girls grow in confidence and the ones who listen get so good! I know some (glamour girls) that are so robotic - they think a pretty face is all it takes.  Sorry but there are plenty of pretty women! it takes more than that!

Haha, I SO agree! There is definitely a difference between a model that seems detached from her/his work and one who actually enjoys what they do. I think if you don't enjoy the work anymore or don't really feel that fire or passion then maybe that person needs to find another line of work to go into. I've been modeling for so many years and I STILL get that adrenaline rush when I'm working...once that flair is gone, why just go through the motions? I agree that some glamour girls think that they have it all figured out. No matter what type of modeling one does, there is always more that is required than meets the eye.

Yes! Glamour girls of course get a lot of hair and make up and a lot of photoshopping for that super glossy, high end playboy look but theres so much more than being pretty! I meet lots of pretty girls that go - ooh I want to be a model! And I think you have to be tough for this industry! Pretty girls are a dime a dozen!
