I've worked with and known a lot of photographers and they all have their own work methods, quirks, and personalities, which I love! And now I want to know about you! If you're a photographer, what is your personality like? How is your work ethic? Are you the type who knows exactly what they want in terms of locations, look, theme, feel, poses? Or do you just play it by ear and manage to get some great shots? Are you domineering or a free collaborative spirit? I could go on and on about different personalities but I want to hear it from you. =)

    Let's see!

    what is your personality like?

I am quietly confident I think!

    How is your work ethic?

I am very laid back and like a casual attitude and relaxed people to work with.

Are you the type who knows exactly what they want in terms of locations, look, theme, feel, poses?

Yes I always have a picture  in mind but I am flexible.

Are you domineering or a free collaborative spirit?

    Free spirit definately!

    Hi, Rowena!

Based on your answers and from the conversations we've had here on the forums, I am pleased to say that should I ever make my way to the UK, I'd like to be a free spirit with you on a shoot one day! =)

Absolutely! Get yourself over here!!!  It's quite hard to find a reliable model believe it or not! Many chicken out or don't turn up which is just strange!

You know, I've never quite understood flaky models who just don't show up or get cold feet. If you're going to be a model, there's no way you can avoid shooting with a photographer so what's the point? No one benefits that way. I think if anything, people are more in love with the "idea" of being a model than actually following through and going through the process. One photographer I've shot with who have become a real friend of mine once asked a question on his Myspace page that I just loved: "Are you a model or just someone who takes nice pictures?" I thought that was hilarious. I mean, while I am passionate about being a model I do expect to make an income from it and I just don't get it when girls or guys (mostly girls) label themselves a "model" but don't actually have a resume of experience or any real paid work, they just have a bunch of model-type pictures. I guess you can model as a hobby, but I don't think it's fair to try and call yourself a "model" unless you actually do it as a career or at least part-time.

The word "model" is thrown away way too loosely for my tastes. haha.

That's funny! I was discussing this with my other half.  There have been all kinds of stories in the press in the UK and I noticed how often people recognize themselves as 'models'.  Even if they actually work full time in a call centre and have done some free modelling for a local college, they call themselves models.  Whilst I am not belittiling those who are starting out or who have to have other jobs too, I think you really do need some paying clients and a good portfolio, and have to have been in the business for a while to call yourself a real, jobbing model.  I know girls who have been to those studios for make overs (where they are then forced to buy the photos for $$$) and call themselves models!
