I have recently discovered threading to remove facial hair, even though some women have been doing it for years!  The person uses simple thread and weaves it over the skin so it tugs all the hair out.  No, its not painless but I was amazed by how fuzz free I was - I did my brow and top lip!  It was £7 for both and I would definately do it again although my skin went very red.  Anyone else tried this before?

    From Wikepedia:

Practitioners use a pure, thin, twisted cotton thread which is rolled over untidy hairlines, moustaches and so on, plucking the hair at the follicle level. Unlike tweezing where a single hair is pulled out each time, threading can remove an entire row of hair, resulting in a straighter line.

As the top layers of skin are not peeled or traumatized, threading is an alternative for those with sensitive skin or who use Retin-A, Accutane, and similar product.

I have been threading for about 2 years now and I am absolutely in LOVE with it! I refuse to wax ever again! I only get my brows done because they are curly and unruly and also have to be trimmed with small scissors. If you're used to waxing then threading isn't so bad pain-wise. But it's one of those things where the longer it lasts the more uncomfortable it becomes but it only takes 10 minutes to do my brows, which I can stand well enough. Threading is so impressive because it really does take out every single hair, whereas waxing almost always left some hair behind. Plus, since it can take out an entire row at a time you can get precise shaping, which makes the end results look even more fabulous. I don't know about other places but where I live threading is super cheap...I only pay $8 USD for my eyebrows...can't get any better than that!

    Hey Dania!

I wish I had a friend who could do it so I could get it done for free :)  I have sensitive skin and I am scared of waxing because the trauma it seems to do to my skin - don't get me wrong, I go very red with threading too BUT, its different and it calms down quickly whereas with waxing I get little white blisters shortly afterwards.   I had a great woman doing it, second time I went elsewhere and it was so painful and awul - definately stick to a good person!
