Lately I've been intrigued by the concept of exfoliating your lips. At first I thought this practice was kind of strange but now that I am experiencing chapped lips due to the colder weather, I am quickly learning that exfoliating your lips is definitely important!

I normally wear regular lip balm on a daily basis and the only time I wear lipstick or lip color of any kind is when I have a casting or shoot. My lips have a love/hate relationship with lip color and I've found that soon after applying lipstick (whether it's from a tube or using a lip brush), my lips become creased and flaky right away, which is annoying and embarrassing.

I've read a number of DIY recipes for how to exfoliate your lips at home but I don't know which one would really work for me. I do have eczema so I have to be wary of how such treatments will affect my lips. Does anyone have any lip exfoliation remedies, treatments, or even products that they swear by? I'd love to know (although home treatments are much more friendly to the wallet than store bought products but if there's an item you are crazy about, I'd still like to know about it)!

Hey!  I love lip exfoliators - I have very chapped lips so i like grainy ones. The best is just sugar and honey mixed together (I do this myself). There's also Sarah Happs lip scrub (pricey), YSL's (too liquidy for me) Fresh sugar scrub (its ok) Body shop Lip scuff (not bad but leaves the lips white!)

Sugar and honey, huh? Hmmm...that sounds like one DIY recipe that I wouldn't mind doing at home. I have eczema so sometimes my lips can react funny to certain things but as far as sugar and honey go, I don't think I should have a problem with that!

I actually got a free sample of a product from the Hollywood Prescription...it's a jar of lip exfoliator and lip serum. So far I've been using the lip exfoliator and it works pretty well so far, no bad reactions although the tingly feeling takes some getting used to. I don't use the lip serum because it's also a plumper and heaven knows, my lips don't need to be any bigger! haha.

Hey I found another one - Garden Botanika! It's in a stick form and has lots of scrubby particles in it, I quite like it as I can d it with out getting my finger dirty! Also, you can just use a warm flannel and a bit of lip balm!
