I had my first experience with extensions last year when I had to do a pageant. I did the glue in method, which worked out perfectly. It lasted about 2 weeks and by then I was definitely ready to get rid of them. All it took was gentle tugging and a bit of baby oil and the tracks came out easily. I tried the sewn in method next and while it wasn't as messy as glue, it was a beast on my scalp. The itching was unbearable at times! Not to mention that my real hair had been braided, which I wasn't used to. I made the mistake of attempting to remove the extensions myself, which took many, many hours, and while that experience was a nightmare, the braids did result in a lot of new growth for my hair, so now it is a lot thicker and healthier than it was before I got the tracks sewn in. However, if I had a choice, I would opt to glue the tracks because it's easier to manage and remove.
I was lucky though because my god sister's sister does hair professionally and she did it for me for free. Yay!
